Cooking Group
Bloom’s Cooking Group supports participants to build independent living skills through hands on involvement in every stage of meal preparation including planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning.

Our cooking group runs every Friday from 12:00–2:00 pm at our Blakeview Hub. The group begins by planning a meal together, creating a shopping list and heading to a local shop to purchase ingredients. There is a strong focus on making healthy food choices and budgeting, helping participants develop practical skills that can be applied in everyday life. After shopping, participants return to the hub to prepare and cook the meal, before sitting down to enjoy it as a group. Each session encourages teamwork, communication and confidence in the kitchen, all within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Groups are arranged to ensure participants feel comfortable, connected and enjoy spending time together. As with all Bloom programs, informal social skills and building friendships are naturally encouraged through shared experiences.
